In response to Victoria University’s (VU)
strategic blueprint “Making VU”, which identified
the St Albans Campus as the Hub for Health,
Human Services and Education Teaching
and Research, Jackson Architecture were
commissioned to prepare an Urban Design
Master Plan to reflect the aspirations of the
planned Hub Development and consequent
facilities demands of student growth forecasts
as prepared by VU.
By working in close collaboration with VU’s
project team and economic consultants,
Jackson Architecture were able to efficiently
complete local context and campus analysis
to determine preferred options to guide short
medium and long term capital investment.
The Master Plan thus established the urban
design principles of consolidation, connection
and conservation to determine appropriate
expansion sites, building mass, access,
circulation and parking guidelines
