The New Delhi Commonwealth games Village accommodates 7,500 athletes and officials. The village consists of 266,200 square metres (some 73%) of built space, with open space consisting of gardens, roads and pedestrian malls.
The village integrates urban axes, or view lines towards the west which focus upon the Temple as a key element and to the north-south which connects the residential precinct to the International zone, dining hall and elite athletes training facilities.
